Is this Why Gulf War was so Successful, and the Iraq War is a Total Failure?

The answer is quite simple. During the first war, Iraqi's thought were liberators; that is, they thought we were there to free them from the man would had already killed, on average, 90,000+ people a year. When we left, Saddam began what can only be called a steady form of genocide. So this time, they were happy to see we came to free them, but they had no desire for us to stay. Once Saddam was gone from power, the people of Iraq wanted us to leave. Since we didn't, they came to think of us as occupiers, which in many ways we are.
