Is private dentistry really this cheap?
I went to a dentist recently in the UK. I had a rapidly growing infection on the weekend so I went to the dental hospital and walked out with a few boxes of antibiotics minus about 6 quid. The following week I registered with a dentist in Glasgow, paid 20 up front, had a check-up, a few X-rays, and then came back the next week to get 2 cavities filled (the infection went down before necessitating root c). The total came to 60, and they returned the 20 deposit. And all of this was not on the NHS dime, so I wonder if that is a normal price, because it seems very cheap to me (I'm used to paying at least $100 per filling, $30 per X-ray, in the US).
