Intake manifold gasket leak (holden gemini)?

I was driving along today and out of no where my car just started missing real bad and had no power at all, so i pulled over and it sounded like i was running on 2 cylinders. A bystander had a look at my engine and said it was my intake gasket and it was drawing in too much air. so i drove it home and when i got home (long drive because i couldnt get over 50ks an hour) i just left it hoping for someone to tell me whats going on :( its my first car and i need help please
