I have a 83 AMC SX4 5 Spd. Could I take my alternator from my 94 Jeep Cherokee and swap it in the sx4?

no the 94 has a different charging rate and also uses a different system than the 83 does,if you,ll look at them they sort of look different also,it wont put out the right amount of voltage to operate the 83 right and may cause problem for you with the charging system,good luck.
